Blank FrameMaker File

By default, a new 'blank' file contains default reference pages, table formats, cross-references, paragraph tags, character tags and more.

This blank file contains only a default page layout (8.5 by 11) and nothing else.

Remove Word Metadata

If you're serious about metadata removal (and what corporation shouldn't be?), then do your homework now -- before you or your client gets burned on some embarrassing issue:

Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002 (XP) or Word 2003.

XML and FrameMaker Development

Recently we've presented at several conferences and STC events and many people have expressed an interest in some of the code we worked with. You can find that XML file within a zip here.

This is the "movies" file that we use for demo purposes. There is also a detailed PDF set of notes that you can get simply by emailing us.

Word and FrameMaker and XMetaL oh my!

At the FrameMaker Chautauqua Bernard presented an interesting review of Word and FrameMaker and the XML features in both. During that presentation he used several live files and converted them to XML from numerous formats (primarily Word and FrameMaker).

Many of the strengths and weaknesses of these tools were shown. The source files (in a very 'raw and *as is* state) can be downloaded in zip format.
