Metrics help identify the time, money, and resources required for any project. When applied to the world of technical publications, documentation metrics provide a way to quantify costs by using clear and unbiased data.
Objectives: Attendees learn to:
- Calculate metrics, then identify where they can be reused
- Define metrics for writing (including both traditional chapter-based and reusable topics), then present them in various ways that go beyond just a "per page" model
- Identify your total costs, then take control of requests for new resources, updates to procedure, changes in software tools, edits to content, and much more
